So I not only read stories, I write some too! Attached is my latest (and only) effort – a couple of short stories. And yes, you can be as unsparing in your criticism as I have been with other, well-established authors 
And to give you an idea of what to expect, here’s an excerpt from a mail written to me by most trusted critic (used without his permission ofcourse):
‘About your works of fiction. Hmm, distinctly hmm. Which is not altogether a bad thing, considering that it could have been ho-hmm, or even uh-huh-hmm. The first one was vaguely RKNarayan-esque and the second was indefinably Enid Blyton-esque. I would have changed some of the grammar and I was puzzled by the sudden introduction of a Vijay. But I liked the dark, almost noir twist at the end – a trifle expected, but that is not the same as predictable. Well worth a read. The second one left me a little less warm. Not cold, mind you, but definitely less warm. I missed a plot and a denouement and the presence of “tofees” put me in mind of a female tofu, which is not the most appetising thought. And both could probably have done with some ruthless editing, but the first one certainly puts you on the Pulitzer track. A distance away, but on the track nonetheless. ‘
